In the May issue of The Voice, I raised concerns about the desire and the ability of the AAC to act regarding Morse North. I was pleased to be part of the audience when the committee voted with the results being four to one. [1] This action is certainly not the end of the discussion; however, it now gives direction to District Government staff. Thank you to the four members voting in favor of widening Morse North. Residents living in CDD1 should remember who voted against the proposal at the polls in November.
On June 17th, the VHA will begin our long-awaited health-related issues speaker series. The goal of this series is to provide information for residents regarding prevention measures related to health issues. On June 17th[2] , Our featured speaker will be Dr. Tyler Long, who will discuss new innovations in dermatology. Dr. Long is owner of Spot Doc located in Brownwood Paddock Square.
The VHA will follow the June event with events in September and October leading to the Health and Wellness Expo in November. Make sure to watch our calendar of events for information regarding location and time of events.
The VHA is always looking for the next group of community leaders. Our mission, as you know, is to have positive constructive dialogue, solve problems, provide education and be philanthropic. If you or someone you know fulfills those requirements, contact me. I would like to have a discussion on how you might help with our organization or serve on a CDD board.
