Often, I wonder if the time spent discussing, with frustration, issues concerning Golf Car Safety are worth the effort. It is. Recently a majority of the AAC members finally voted to proceed with a plan to improve Morse North for cart, pedestrian, and bicycle use. Two members of that committee voted against the proposal.
Other great news is that the Wildwood City Council voted to remove the number of people seated in a golf car from the recently approved ordinance governing golf car use. One member of the council voted no. That member indicated the problem is a bunch of grumpy old grandparents complaining. Isn’t that a great reason to be in opposition?
Now it is time to focus on being smart when operating your golf car. Use best practices please. We had over seventy residents admitted to HCA Hospital in Ocala in 2025 resulting from injuries received when an early unexpected exit occurred. Seat belt use is the best practice in prevention of traumatic injuries.
Speaking of prevention, mark your calendars and join us, November 20, our Fourth Annual Health and Wellness Expo at the Rohan Recreation Center. The hours are from 11am until 4pm with sixty organizations represented.
Be well,
