    Operation Shoebox

Operation Shoebox is a 501 (C) 3 Nonprofit whose mission is to provide support to our troops deployed outside of the United States. Our care packages are filled with requested items from our troops to help them get through their deployment but more importantly to let them know they are thought of and cared about. This could come in the form of coffee, socks, hygiene items and letters of encouragement. We appreciate our men and women who serve our country and are committed to serving those that serve us.

    Stories from Pace Marion
    Kyleigh's Story
"I’m Kyleigh and I came to Pace Marion to overcome some challenging obstacles with my education. At public school, I had so much anxiety it would keep me distracted. But once I came to Pace I was able to open up more to my amazing counselor and I was able to make some good friends that shared the same traits as me. I am now almost caught up with all of my credits and I am about to graduate from high school. I plan on going to college and studying to become either an anesthesiologist or neurologist."

    Who We Are

We are those who live in The Villages, Florida, and surrounding communities, who have Parkinson’s disease (PD). We may number 1,500 or more based upon the demographics of those living here that are over the age of 60. We are care partners. Since most people with PD also have a care partner, 3,000 folks total live with the disease every day, 24 hours a day. We are professional medical personnel that service the PD population. We are caregivers, including family members, friends, and paid personnel. We are those that freely give our time to run support groups. We are those that prepare written material for the local PD community, to include various reference documents, and even a published PD book. We include one resolute person who publishes a comprehensive weekly Parkinson’s newsletter for those living in The Villages or surrounding communities. We include several ambassadors that represent the various Parkinson’s foundations. We include retired professionals that liaison with local hospitals to improve PD in-patient care and to distribute medical kits from the Parkinson’s Foundation to those with PD. We are those that arrange social activities, to include an annual PD cruise. Become a “We”. You will be welcomed into our community.
