As we continue into 2025, the Villages Public Safety Department (VPSD) remains dedicated to enhancing emergency response capabilities, improving facilities, and expanding community outreach. Here’s a summary of key data updates from May 2025’s data:

Emergency Response & Performance

• May 2025 Incidents: 

  • 75% of calls were Emergency Medical Services (EMS)-related.
  • 25% were fire or fire-related incidents.

• Ambulance Response Statistics for May 2025: 

  • Critical/High Acuity Calls: 7.1 min average response time.
  • Moderate/Low Acuity Calls: 7.3 min average response time.
  • Total May Transports: 1,368 

• FYTD Ambulance Response Statistics: 

  • Critical/High Acuity Calls: 7.2 min average response time.
  • Moderate/Low Acuity Calls: 7.9 min average response time.
  • Total FYTD Transports: 11,460

Incident Highlight

• VPSD passes State EMS Inspection; next inspection 2027

• MSTU Ribbon Cutting Ceremony 7/22/2025 at UF Spanish Plaines from 9:30-11:30

• VPSD takes possession of new M49

• Class 2502 Pinning Ceremony took place on 6/6/2025 at Colony Recreation Center

Looking Ahead

In May 2025, 75% of calls were answered within 8 minutes, and we continue working toward our goal of reducing response times to 5 minutes and 20 seconds when fully staffed and with new stations operational.
