If you’re Medicare-eligible, the Open Enrollment Period (OEP) is the time to review your options and choose the insurance plan and provider that best support your health and lifestyle. OEP runs from January 1 through March 31. After March 31, you will be locked into the health plan you have selected.
Why OEP is Important to You
Even if you’re satisfied with your Medicare Advantage plan, your health or financial priorities may have changed. OEP is your chance to re-evaluate, compare costs and benefits, and ensure the coverage still aligns with your medical needs. Life changes, and your coverage should reflect that.
Protect Your Relationship with Your Provider
One of the most important steps during OEP is to confirm that any plan you choose continues to include your current primary care provider (PCP) and care team. Selecting a plan that is not accepted by your doctor can unintentionally disrupt your upcoming medical appointments, access to your prescriptions, referrals to specialists, and ongoing treatment plans. If you need help reviewing your options, call 844-884-9355 or schedule a tour to see how The Villages Health fits your needs.
Aging well starts with thoughtful decisions and confident choices about your health and healthcare, too.
