As part of its Mission to champion the needs of Villagers through positive constructive dialogue, problem-solving, education, and philanthropy, the VHA will hold its annual Health and Wellness Expo at Rohan Recreation Center on November 21st.  The event runs from 1 pm to 4 pm and is free to all Village residents with a Village ID. Generally, Expos provide an opportunity for various organizations to showcase their services related to a common theme.   The VHA Health and Wellness Expo will concentrate on staying healthy while aging. It will focus on healthcare options, physical activity for healthy aging, social engagement for mental wellness, and proper nutrition for a healthy life. Attendees are encouraged to circulate and visit any and all exhibitors they have an interest in.

Participating health care exhibitors include memory care with Dr. Craig Curtis and K2 Summit Research, primary care with The Villages Health, hospital rehabilitation services with UF Health and Encompass Health, AVIV Clinic Hyperbaric Treatment Center, SpotDoc dermatology services, Harter Dental, Guardian Health cancer treatment, Health First imaging, and Walmart optical and prescription services. Helping Hands, the VHA-aligned program that lends durable medical equipment to Village residents and their guests, will also be there to explain its program. Additionally, several health insurance companies, including Humana, Florida Blue, UnitedHealthcare, and Sphere Coverage, will be present to discuss their programs. Remember, Medicare Open Enrollment for 2026 runs from October 15 to December 7.

Asked about the goals for the event, Co-Chair Cindy Toller said, “Our goal is to provide those who attend with the information they need to stay healthy while aging.”

Recognizing the importance of maintaining physical and mental fitness, The Genesis Health Club, The Enrichment Academy, and The Villages Recreation & Parks Department will provide information on mental and physical activities, including classes, workout programs, and personal training.  Additionally, the Pittman Law Office will be available to discuss elder law concerns, estate planning, and probate matters.

Le’ahi Health Café will be promoting healthy eating, and Highpoint at Stonecrest will discuss assisted living.

New this year, several volunteer organizations will be in attendance. Included among the groups scheduled to participate are The Villages Amputee Support Group, Angel Wigs, Caring Neighbors, Celebrate Differences, Dollars for Scholars, Food Addicts in Recovery, Healthy Cooking Club, Our Moment Café, Langley Health Services, TLC, Whole Food Plant-Based Club, Villages Community Resource, and the Villages Diabetic Club.
