Every day, thousands of U.S. Veterans live with invisible wounds: emotional distress, chronic pain, cognitive dysfunction, and diminished quality of life. These symptoms often stem from traumatic brain injuries (TBI), concussions, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). But there is hope for Veterans still suffering.

On July 1, Aviv Clinics in The Villages® announced a new partnership with Koterra, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Veterans access transformative care. Under this alliance, Aviv serves as a Veteran care collaborator, delivering advanced treatment to Koterra-sponsored Veterans.

“Our strategic healing alliance with Aviv Clinics is uniquely promising,” says Patti Brady, Koterra’s CEO and founder. “One of our clients, a Navy SEAL with multiple TBIs and post-traumatic stress, recently completed Aviv’s program and showed remarkable improvements, including a 33% increase in cognitive function.”

Aviv Clinics offers personalized treatment programs designed to improve cognitive, physical, and neurological function. Depending on each individual’s needs, the Aviv Medical Program may include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, cognitive and physical training, and nutritional coaching, guided by nearly two decades of published clinical studies.

“This partnership advances both of our missions,” says Dion Atchison, Aviv Clinics COO and U.S. Army Veteran. “While we deliver life-changing care, Koterra gathers the pre- and post-treatment data they need to build the case for VA and insurance coverage of hyperbaric oxygen — ultimately making this evidence-based therapy more accessible to Veterans.”

Koterra currently has 10 Veterans waiting for funding to receive treatment. If you would like to help a Veteran with transformative medical care, visit www.koterra.org.
