This year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s was a power walk on many levels, and walkers made some big moves! As the official sponsor for the fifth year, The Villages Health (TVH) team broke records for attendance and donations. TVH Dementia Care Specialist Melissa Denham served as team captain at the October 5th event at the Villages Polo Club. The Villages Health team was the largest to participate and raise funds, with over 200 registrants and $40,678.81 donated.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the biggest worldwide event to increase awareness and garner funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. The walk is held annually nationwide in more than 600 communities, including The Villages. TVH thanks those who partnered with staff, whether in-person or virtually, to help change the future for patients and families. Planning has already begun for next year’s walk, as the team gears up for more record-breaking action and participation. Through The Villages Health Learning Center, staff continue to advocate for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease, with free programs and resources for caregivers and families, available at Learning Center Classes and Education Programs – The Villages Health.
