Nicolas Hemes, a VHA member since 2010, a resident of Belvedere Village, and NSCUDD Director of District 1 (Sanitation), has stepped forward to sponsor the VHA 2023 Partners Award with a gift of $500.  This is the second year that Nick has voluntarily provided the award in memory of his friend, Don Hahnfeldt and in honor of Don’s widow, Cheryle.  The VHA Annual Awards Night is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 8, at 7:00 PM at the Lake Miona Recreation Center.  The 2023 recipient of the Partners Award is Best Buddies, a program that builds friendships for people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Nicolas is active with the Florida Highway Patrol and the California Highway Patrol, and has been for many years. Currently, he is sponsoring a vacation to Orlando, Florida for two French highway patrolmen.

A native of England, Nicolas lived in Los Angeles, California for over 20 years before relocating to The Villages, Florida in 2000.  He is most animated when he speaks of his daughter, Kim, and granddaughter, Kami, who have recently established residency in North Carolina.

The VHA appreciates the membership and continued support of Nick Hemes.
