Where Will You Look?

What could change in your life that would require searching for a new resource? You say, I am young, just retired, financially stable, physically fit, and mentally sharp. I need nothing! That can change in a heartbeat. It can change over time without your notice.

A year ago, a VHA team developed a Community Resource Hub. The goal was to create a database that would include resources available to Villages residents and would become a central focus of the VHA website. The database would include agencies that have been screened by the team for reliability. The database is available on the VHA website, under Community Resources.

Community Resources – The VHA

The Community Resources database includes twenty-nine pages with 339 available resources. It is not all-inclusive. Obviously, more resources are available. I urge you to review the pages to ensure that your agency is listed. If not, please send us an email, and we will review all and include those that are applicable to our mission.

The VHA is committed to serving the needs of the Villages residents. We provide a Residents Information Night geared to serve new residents, educational opportunities throughout the year, Golf Cart Safety courses at multiple locations monthly, and a Health and Wellness Expo promoting prevention. All at no charge and open to all Villages residents. We fund and operate the Shared Harvest Garden, providing organically grown vegetables to those in need, and loan durable medical equipment on a short-term basis through Helping Hands. All programming offered by the VHA is made possible by the time committed by more than 200 volunteers. We look forward to your offer to assist.

Our Community Resource database is another project created by VHA team members to assist you. We urge you to support us in these and future endeavors by joining our organization. The VHA Foundation is always searching for funders and agencies in need. You can join the VHA and support our Foundation easily by visiting our website, thevha.net
