Helping Hands provides durable medical equipment to Villages residents who need it and right now, we need dedicated volunteers to keep that mission moving. We have two open positions and are looking to fill them as soon as possible.
Equipment Handler
(Two vacancies, including Lead Equipment Handler)
Do you have a clean driving record and the ability to lift 40 pounds? This hands-on role is a great fit for someone who likes to stay active and make a tangible difference in a neighbor’s life.
Equipment Handlers pull equipment and stage for pick-ups and safety-check durable medical equipment for residents in need. Opportunity to assist with equipment repair may also be available.
What you’ll need:
- A valid driver’s license with a clean, verifiable driving record
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- An email address for assignments and communications
- Availability to work weekly or biweekly
Training: Three one-on-one hands-on sessions provided.
Call Coordinator
Are you a people person with a calm, friendly phone manner? As a Call Coordinator, you’ll be the welcoming voice that helps residents reserve the equipment they need – from the comfort of your own home or on-site.
Call Coordinators answer incoming calls and emails, schedule reservations, and provide pickup and drop-off information to residents. A cellphone and laptop are provided for remote work.
What you’ll need:
- Friendly telephone manner and clear communication skills
- Basic computer familiarity (Excel experience a plus, but not required)
- Availability Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (flexible scheduling available)
Training: Full training and mentorship provided. No prior nonprofit experience necessary.
