On October 5, 2025, the VHA lost a very dedicated member, Debi Gorzka.  The Board of Directors wishes to acknowledge her contribution.

Debi had been the engine behind our VHA Bingo program.  Debi truly believed in our motto, “Get Involved, Make a Difference.” As with her Recreation & Parks work, VHA Bingo was about making an enjoyable night for residents.

Debi and her husband, Mike Dollard, moved to the Villages in 2013.  Shortly after that, she found that The Villages Recreation & Parks was a great place to work – retirement was boring.  Many knew her from her job with R&P, as she had been a facilities manager at Lake Miona, Everglades, and Ezell Rec Centers.  Deb possessed a deep passion for that job; she viewed residents as her customers and wanted happy ones.

Eventually, Debi joined her husband as a volunteer at VHA, and when they needed someone to restart and run their bingo program, her background as an events manager came back to life.

Deb will be deeply missed by everyone that she touched. She was a very special person.
