Why Volunteer with Us? The VHA Helping Hands is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free loaner medical equipment—walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, and more—to residents of The Villages. By volunteering, you can help ensure our community members stay mobile, safe, and independent.

Volunteer Opportunities

1. Call Coordinator

Role Overview:

• Answer incoming calls and emails from residents reserving equipment.
• Schedule reservations and give resident pick-up/drop-off information.
• Provide friendly, patient support and clear instructions.

Schedule & Commitment:

• Calls are taken between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday
• Flexible scheduling is available, and a cellphone and a laptop are provided so you can work remotely.

Skills & Training:

• Friendly telephone manners and practical communication skills
• Basic computer familiarity: experience with Excel is a plus.
• Training and mentorship provided—no prior nonprofit experience required.

2. Excel & Reporting Specialist

Role Overview:

• Maintain and update our equipment tracking spreadsheet in Excel.
• Generate and analyze monthly reports on inventory usage and volunteer activities.
• Identify trends and suggest process improvements.

Schedule & Commitment:

• Flexible hours—work remotely or on-site at our office in The Villages
• Commitment: approximately 5-6 hours/month

Skills & Training:

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation)
• Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset.
• Prior experience with reporting or database tools preferred
