Having grown up in Orlando, G. Harlan Thrailkill is a third generation central Floridian. He attended UCF in Orlando and while in college worked at Walt Disney World at Space Mountain. An “exciting” time was working in Iran during the revolution that ousted the Shah which lead to an emergency evacuation from Iran. Later in life he decided to sell his business and teach middle school math and science for 13 years.

He and his wife of 44 years, Pat, moved to The Village of Pine Ridge in 2015, along with their disabled son. Harlan is an avid pickleball player and frequent golfer. He also serves as President of the Community Improvement Council (CIC) here in The Villages, has often been a presenter at The VHA New Resident Night, and has been a Red Cross Volunteer for over 15 years.
