Kay Elder - VHA South Area Vice President

KAY ELDER – VHA SOUTH AREA VICE PRESIDENT Kay moved here in April of 2013 with her fiance', Ed Falconer. During a preview visit in July of 2012, they discovered the wonderful lifestyle of The Villages.  They settled in Hillsborough and were the 3rd purchasers in that new village.  As Hillsborough grew in numbers, Kay was able to start a mailing list of new residents, and later on recruited others to help keep the list current.  The group has hosted five block parties, which they feel were successful due to the group mailing sent out each time. Kay and Ed are mobile music entertainers and provided the entertainment for the block parties. Kay said they have also been fortunate enough to do shows for several of the local clubs. They also started the Concert Karaoke Club and the 70's Music Lovers Club on Sundays at Big Cypress from 6 - 8. (They took a break during the summer and started back in September.) Since everyone in Hillsborough already knew Kay, she thought it would make sense to become the Hillsborough Representative for the VHA.  She said she felt, and still feels, this is an important job and it has worked out well with the few matters she has taken to the VHA.  When Nicolas Hemes accepted a new position, he asked Kay to replace him as VHA Regional Director of Region 10 which she accepted.  Then, last month Nicolas moved away from The Villages and resigned.  On September 10th Kay was approved as Interim VP of the Southern Region of VHA.  “I look forward to being a part of the process of taking care of the residents to ensure all that our lifestyle is protected,” Kay said.
