As the District moves in alignment with Phase 3 of the Governor’s Executive Order, golf is taking a measured approach to return to pre-COVID-19 operations.  Seven months ago, strategic implementations were made at the District courses to keep golf an essential outdoor activity; this allowed golf to remain open throughout this period, offering the residents a much-needed outlet.

During this time of phase-back, we are working with our golf operations contractors to ensure that key safety information is shared with golfers. Fliers are posted at the Starter Shacks reminding golfers to bring hand sanitizer and wear a mask when unable to keep a safe distance. Golfers need to supply their own bottled water as water coolers will remain off at the courses for now to avoid droplet exposure.  The Starters and Ambassadors will aid in managing golf parking areas and after-round gatherings to safeguard social distancing guidelines. While we lay out phase-back plans, the District remains in constant contact with local health officials.

With over two million rounds played annually on the District courses, protecting our assets and continuing a great golfing experience is a shared goal.
