20 mph Unless Otherwise Posted

New Sumter County signage at entrances of The Villages alerts drivers that the speed limit (in Sumter County portions of The Villages) is now 20 mph unless otherwise posted.  This includes the majority of residential streets where automobiles and golf carts are sharing the roads.  Additionally, Sumter County is removing about 50 existing speed limit signs where speed limits had been slightly higher or lower than 20 mph.  The overall effort is to create standardization and reduce signage.

VHA Membership Dues Change on March 1st

Starting on March 1st VHA membership dues increases from $6 per household per year to $7.50.  Biannual dues is renewable therefore for $15 per household, which is one of the greatest bargains in The Villages.  Lifetime dues is still available for the same low price of $60 per household.  Please note that all officers and directors of the VHA are unpaid, volunteer Villagers working for you.  The Villages Voice newsletter, and other services such as Golf Cart Safety clinics, Newcomer Orientations, and special programs are the largest portion of the VHA budget and totally funded by membership dues.
